Christa&Alex - a vibrant summer wedding ceremony and a feast for grown-ups and kids
What an exiting year it has been!
2019 was definitely a year to remember. So many beautiful couples, flowers and celebrations took place at Il Rigo, and we are very happy to show you a new real wedding, celebrated in our home, framed by the golden rolling hills of the Val d’Orcia in August!
Christa and Alex, from Düsseldorf in Germany, decided to involve their lovely family (4 kids!) and theirs friends’ families during their wedding celebration.
Kids where the life of the party, and recieved so many attentions and details, from the lavender crowns for the ring-bearers, the kid’s table with personalized gifts and toys, and the entertainment, to feel involved and participating the feast!
So let’s sink in that shimmering atmosphere of last summer!
The begninning of a sunny day: getting ready
Christa got ready in the living room of first floor, in front of the terrace.
There was enough space for all the girls and the mums to get ready together, and the scene was a joy for the eye, especially when Christa was breastfeeding her youngest daughter wearing her wedding gown <3
Alex was totally downhearted and cosy! A light outfit it’s the best choice when you celebrate in summer!
A ceremony in the meadow
The flower mood was vibrant and intense! Dark, burgundy dahlias, rusty grasses and wine coloured ribbons set the palette, both for the ceremony decorations on the meadow and the bridal bouquet.
The girls were looking so sweet, wearing these delicate lavender crowns, spreading home-made dried petals in front of Alex and Christa.
The ceremony itself was very personal and touching. Many personal details to involve the kids have been added to the script. However the sun was very strong and some paper parasols were crucial to protect the baby!

Relaxing time amidst the ammocks and the pond
The day continued with the aperitif in the courtyard and some relaxed time by the pond, for a sweet shooting of the couple, by the hammocks under the pines and hanging in the backyard for some stunning sunset portraits!
A dinner under the summer clear sky
The table setting followed the theme of the ceremony, with dark flowers, grasses and wine boxes, but remaining plain and simple, to enlighten the beauty of the landscape and that clear sky
On the kids table were placed little personalized bags, with games and sweet treats.
A firewell BBQ to cherish the precious moments spent together
The day after the couple greeted the friends with an outdoor BBQ!
Is there a better way to say goodbye, rather than a juicy, hot sausage and an iced cold beer in a Tuscan summer night?
